The Dallas Stars miserable season just keeps getting worse.
The Stars are only one spot ahead of the downright awful Colorado Avalanche in the Central Division, and if the season ended today they would miss out on the playoffs by a sizable eight points. They have one of the worst goal differences in the league at -25, a stat that certainly wasn’t helped Thursday night when Jiri Hudler managed to score an own goal into a wide open net on a delayed penalty.
Hudler did have two teammates behind him, but he somehow managed to execute a blind drop pass that perfectly split the pair and slid into the Stars’ empty net.
The goal was credited to the last Ottawa Senators player to touch the puck. Amazingly, that player was Chris Kelly, who had his butt firmly planted on the bench when the debacle went down. Great goal, Chris! Made it look effortless!
Chris Kelly just scored a goal from here. You too can do anything you put your mind to. pic.twitter.com/HR1EjY1ZnR
