It’s been a long, long time since netminders in the NHL put their faces on the line for wins.

Last night during a game against the Vancouver Canucks, the zebras basically ignored the fact that St. Louis Blues goalie Jake Allen was missing his facemask for a full 10 seconds, and yet he stood tall as a shot was directed his way.

Crazy, crazy stuff, but he still stopped the shot by Vancouver’s .

At that time, the Blues were leading the Canucks 4-2 and in the end, it was one of his 18 stops in a 4-3 victory, the Blues sixth in a row.

Head coach Mike Yeo – who tallied his seventh win in eight games since taking over for Ken Hitchcock – spoke of the play postgame, and it didn’t sound like he would have done the same.

“He stood in there,” Yeo said. “He’s crazy.”
