The New York Mets sure do suck.

Their season has been an unmitigated disaster. They can’t even muster the faintest amount of run support, resulting in their best pitcher Jacob deGrom only having an 8-7 record over 25 starts, even while having a NL-leading 1.71 ERA and a sub-1.000 WHIP. Their other best pitcher, Noah Syndergaard, has spent much of the year on the disabled list with injuries and — we’re not kidding — a bout with hand, foot, and mouth disease. What the hell?

The rest of their lineup is an injured and/or ineffective mess too, resulting in them signing an aging Jose Bautista to play right field. The LOLMets are out in full force, and have a 54-70 record to show for it.

On Monday night, they blew an extra-innings game against the Giants in the most Mets way possible.

In the top of the 13th, with runners on first and third, Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford hit a pop up to shallow left field. Somehow, both Dominic Smith and Ahmed Rosario managed to flub any attempts at communication and collided with each other, resulting in Rosario dropping the ball and the Giants scoring the go ahead run.

The Mets, because they are the Mets, went down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 13th to end the game. The season just can’t end fast enough.
