Brandon Wheat Kings’ Patrick Tops Mid-Season Draft Rankings

Move along, nothing to see here.

Just kidding. As it was earlier this season, Nolan Patrick of the Brandon Wheat Kings is still the NHL’s highest ranked player going into the entry draft.

The league released its midterm draft rankings Wednesday, and the 6’3″, 200 lb. center tops the pack of North American skaters. Patrick has scored six goals and seven assists in eight games for Brandon, since missing 35 WHL games and the world juniors with an upper-body injury.

The consensus top three among North American skaters are all centers, including Swiss national Nico Hischier (Halifax Mooseheads) and Gabriel Vilardi (Windsor Spitfires).

The top-rated European player is C/LW Klim Kostin, who was playing with Dynamo Moscow before being shelved with an injury.

The NHL draft will be held at the United Center in Chicago on June 23-24.
