Apparently overpowering and dominating the former face of women’s MMA isn’t enough for Amanda Nunes. She wants everyone to really know that Ronda Rousey’s time in the spotlight is over.

Following her brutal 48-second beatdown to retain the UFC bantamweight championship (in case you forgot, she was actually the champion before the fight too), Nunes did an interview with TMZ Sports that was anything but humble. She brags about her talent and talks trash about Rousey, wondering how she ever won those first 12 fights of her career.

“I don’t know how Ronda Rousey went too far in this division. Honestly, I don’t understand why those girls lost to Ronda Rousey. I know since my first fight in the UFC I can beat Ronda Rousey, but of course I have to take my time and put everything together. That day was the day to prove to everybody and I did it.”

When she was asked if Rousey is overrated, she didn’t hesitate to drop another bomb.

“Yes, for sure [Rousey is overrated]. The UFC make this happen. They put her in a place where she’s not at. But I know I can beat Ronda Rousey since I saw her first fight.”

Forget being gracious in victory, this is the kind of honesty that really drives interest in MMA!
