We’re gonna say this right from the start — if you’re squeamish about seeing blood or any kind of gross sports injuries, you should go ahead and close this webpage right now. Go ahead. Close it up, and possible throw whatever device you’re using into the nearest body of water, because this video has “noooooooooooooope” written all over it.

Still here?

Okay, but we did warn you.

Sidney Crosby is one of the all-time great hockey players. No one questions that. But he also has a reputation for being a bit of a whiner when it comes to the referees, and some would even say he has a dirty streak in him. Just earlier this week he speared another player right in the crotch (which went unpunished), and Thursday night in Ottawa he gave Senators defenceman Marc Methot a whack on the hands that resulted in a truly gruesome injury.

Just watch.

Crosby again went unpunished for this slash, although he may still receive a call from the league disciplinary board. Guy Boucher, the head coach for the Sens, didn’t wax poetic about the incident after the game, bluntly accusing Crosby of “destroying” Methot’s finger, saying it’s “shattered.” Methot is expected to miss at least three weeks of time, maybe more.

When asked about the incident after the game, Crosby simply brushed it off.

“I was just trying to get his stick and I think I caught his finger judging by his reaction and their reaction,” said the Penguins star. “I’ve gotten those before. They don’t feel good.”
