From hero, to apparently zero, in less than a full season.
Shayne Gostisbehere of the Philadelphia Flyers, who was the Calder Trophy runner-up for Rookie of the Year in 2016, will sit his third straight game when the St. Louis Blues pay a visit tonight. It also marks the fifth time this season that the sophomore defenceman is a healthy scratch, even though the Flyers were shut out by Los Angeles on Saturday.
The “Ghost”, who was a surprise performer during the 2015-16 season, hasn’t scored in 27 games and has but four goals and 17 assists in 48 games and is -19, a far cry from his 46 points (17 goals) and +8 rating in 64 games last season.
Shayne Gostisbehere still out. I think his sitting is starting to grow old with some of the other players.

As seen by the tweet above, Gostisbehere’s now frequent scratches have been fodder for the Twitterati and made for some bad feelings in the Flyers’ dressing room.
