Add defenceman Keith Yandle’s name of players whose wallets have taken a hit for diving/embellishment.

The Florida Panthers veteran defenceman was slapped with a $2,000 fine for an infraction of revised league rules involving diving/embellishment, according to a league source.

Yandle was flagged for diving in a game against New Jersey on Nov. 3 and given a warning. On Jan. 31, he was again caught diving and with a second citation, resulting in the $2,000 fine. If he dives again this season, he could be fined $3,000. A fourth infraction would net coach Tom Rowe a $2,000 hit too.

Distractions are hardly what the Florida Panthers need these days as they strive to get back into playoff contention. Yandle, in is 11th season, has played very well, logging over 22 minutes per game and scoring 27 points with a +1 rating.
