The Cleveland Browns have been a laughingstock for years, but now they can another failure to their long list of inadequacies.

As the NFL’s tradeline came and went at 4:00 p.m on Halloween, the Browns were reportedly on the verge of completing a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals for backup quarterback A.J. McCarron. Lord knows they could use the help behind center, as the likes of DeShone Kizer, Cody Kessler, and Kevin Hogan are all kinds of awful (to be fair, Kizer is still a rookie and could come around to be decent).

There was just one problem. The Browns failed to send their approval to the league office, despite having five minutes to do so. By the time they got around to it, the deadline had passed and the NFL refused to accept the trade.

The Browns tried to appeal the decision, but the NFL front office refused to budge, meaning that McCarron will remain a Bengal and the Browns will continue to get laughed at.

Look at this stupidity, in reports from other verified sports reporters.

This is officially the most Browns thing that the Browns have ever done. SMH.
