On a night of firsts for the Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James, it was an insane jump shot that caught everyone’s attention.

James, who had a career high 17 assists — and fouled out for the first time in three years — banked in a three-pointer with just ticks left on the clock to send the game against the Washington Wizards to overtime, where the Cavs would eventually prevail 140-135.

Down 120-117 with just 3.4 seconds left  and no timeouts remaining, Kevin Love took the ball out of bounds under Cleveland’s own basket and fired a 70-foot Hail Mary that found James just inside the Wizardss’ 3-point line.

James, who moments earlier had whiffed on a wide-open layup that would have put the Cavs up a point, corralled the pass, stepped out, and hit a ridiculous turnaround 3-pointer off the glass to tie it up and force the extra period.

Unfortunately, the Cavs would have to do without James services for much of OT, as he fouled out just under a minute in.

Here’s another incredible angle, featuring the whole play in super slo-motion. Worth another look.
